There might be other reasons, you want to find Google Adsense alternatives, perhaps preparing for that day you would wake up and get that “Adsense has been disabled from showing on your site” message from Google Adsense or you probably want to increase your streams of income. I recently wrote a similar article on Google Adsense alternatives available to Nigerian Bloggers but this is applicable to anyone anywhere in the world. You must have heard about Chitika; if NO is your answer, then here you have it. Yes! Before you ask, You can use Chitika Ads with AdSense because Chitika Ads are non-contextual and do not look like AdSense units.
Chitika allow you to earn revenue from your website traffic by displaying search targeted, mobile and local ads that are suited to your audience’s interests, and earn revenue. Did you get that? No? Here it is. Unlike Google Adsense which displays contextual ads on your site, Chitika displays search targetted ads on your site. Contextual ads are determined by the content on your blog while search targeted ads are determined by the search term the visitor used to get to your blog. See the difference now?
Now you know that Chitika ads are based on search terms. The implication of this is that you might not make much from this program if you don’t have a decent search engine traffic because the ads won’t change and your users keep seeing the same ads over and over again. If someone searches for “how to make money online” to get to your website, even if your site is about “how to make money from agriculture”, the ads that would show up would be about “how to make money online”. Since this is what the user is already looking for, you can get him easily to click the ads but this is only great for blogs with decent search engine traffic.
How do you get paid? I know that’s another question on your mind. At the end of every month you are paid based on the previous month’s earnings. Payments are sent after your account earns at least $10.00 (USD) for PayPal payouts or $50.00 (USD) for checks.
If you are just starting a Blog, I don’t think it’s a good idea to start using Chitika to monetize your blog right from the onsent because most of your traffic won’t be from search engines. You can find other means to do that because even Google Adsense is very strict with approving applications now. It’s always advisable to allow your site grow before you start serving ads on it. You might want to make use of Google analytics and webmaster tools to track the number of daily visitors you get from search engines. Don’t be deceived by your website hits. Website hits is different from your unique visitors and page views.
Chitika could be your best Adsense alternative if you have a good percentage of traffic coming from search engines.
Hope this helps!
