In this post, I will be showing you how you can pay for DStv subscription with your mobile phone without having to bother of leaving your place of work or going to the bank, especially if there is no nearby Multichoice vendor in your area.
To start with, I made this post using the GTBank's Mobile Banking software called GTMobile, which I have previously explained in a step by step guide. Read the post here.
If you don't have account with GTBank, you can visit any GTBank nearby branch to get started. However, I know of Intercontinental Mobile Banking software called IMobile, which means your bank can also be offering this service. To find out if your bank is offering, simply visit any nearby branch of your bank and enquire about Mobile Banking Services.
GTBank and Intercontinental Bank users can proceed to the following steps to start paying DStv subscirption with their mobile phone:
To make this work, you must have downloaded and installed the GTMobile Software(for GTBank Customers) and IMobile software (for Intercontinental Customers), registered your Card, and activated it, if you have not or do not know how to do it, read my post on GTMobile: How to Conduct Your GTBank Transactions Directly on Your Mobile Phone.
Now follow these steps to get started:
- Launch your GTMobile or IMobile from your phone applications folder.
- Select "Bill Payments"
- Select "Pay CableTV"
- In the "Select your provider" box, select "Pay DSTV"
- Enter your Smartcard number in the box provided
- Enter the amount you want to pay, depending on the DTSV Bouquets you are paying for.
- Select your account type, enter your pin and SEND the money.
How to Alert Multichoice so They Can know You have paid
Once you confirm transaction successful, use the phone number you used when you bought your DSTV and dial the type in a text message "RA first 10digits of your SmartCardnumber" and then send to 30333
Example: RA 2171131416
Multichoice on receiving your text, will immediately confirm the payment and activate your bouquet.
To speak directly to a staff of Multichoice, simply contact the customer care via 080 3900 3788 follow the voice prompt and then press 0 for your call to be forwarded to one of representatives or agents.
Tips: For an effective phone communication, make sure you have all your details such as SmartCard number, phone number used when DStv coder was bought, your name and address ready because they agent you will be spaeking with will need them for processing of your request.
When you are done speaking with the agent and request was successfully executed, wait for some time and then check any of the following channels to confirm if your bouquet has been activated for you:
