You've always been subscribed to friends. Now you can hear from journalists, celebrities, political figures and other people too.
The one good thing the new facebook subscription button can do to you as a blogger or web publisher is the traffic which it will generate for you.
Your Blog/Site(You) = Updates/Posts--->Your Friends--->Friends of your Friends--->Friends to Friends of your Friends--->Update keep going to Unlimited Non-Friends
In return the the result and the impact it will have on your blog/site will be:
Unlimited Number of Non-Friends--->Friends to Friends of Your Friends--->Friends of Your Friends--->Your Friends--->Tones of Traffic--->Your Blog/Site(You)
I did this analysis, and discovered what a FREE traffic I can be getting when I make use of my Facebook Subscription Button.
The simple trick is that when you allow people to subscribe to your updates via facebook, anyone who’s interested can get public updates you share from your profile, right in their News Feeds. This lets you share with a broader audience, while reserving personal updates for people you know well. You can have an unlimited number of subscribers, and easily update them from your mobile phone or PC.

How to Add the Facebook Subscription option to your Facebook Profile
First things first, before you add the Subscribe button to your Facebook profile, it may be a good idea to double-check that only posts, stuffs or updates that you really want to share with non-friends is public.
To confirm this, go to your Facebook profile page, click on “View As” button and then click the “public” link to see what updates in your profile are public.
Step 1: To get started, go to the Subscriptions tab on the left-hand side of your facebook profile, click Allow Subscribers to let anyone subscribe to your public updates. Alternatively, go to http://www.facebook.com/about/subscribe and click "Allow Subscribers"
Step 2: When you allow subscribers, a settings dialogue like the one below will appear. From here, you can choose who can comment on your posts and what notifications you want to receive when new people subscribe.
Click on "Okay" when you are done with the settings.
Step 3: Once you’ve allowed subscribers, people can subscribe to your public updates and choose what types of content they receive from you. Go to the Subscribers tab on your profile to see who subscribes to you. The screen-shot below will also appear on your wall showing your name and a notification with RSS icon that you now allows subscribers
Step 4: When you want subscribers to see one of your posts, set its privacy to Public. If you don’t set the
post to Public, your subscribers won’t see your updates.
post to Public, your subscribers won’t see your updates.
With the math I did earlier, you will now understand that you can have unlimited number of subscribers to your profile but you can subscribe to a maximum of 5,000 profiles.
Cheers and Happy Traffic!
