Finally WhatsApp Now Uses Voice

The popular internet messaging App WhatsApp got updated yesterday with a new feature, voice messaging. The update basically turns your phone into a walkie talkie, similar to what has been present on popular chats Apps WeChat and Voxer. However, it isn’t just a copyof other apps, WhatsApp has added pretty cool elements in its new feature.  Announcing it in the blog post here, users would now see a small Microphone icon next to the text bar, whichwhen pushed would serve as a message recorder.

The voice messages would play inside the app, and the mic icon would turn blue as soon as the person intended to listen the message checks it. For iPhones, Androids and Windows Phones; playback will automatically switch from a handset’s speakers to its earpiece when the device is held near the ear. The update has been rolled out on all platforms (Android/ iOs/ WP8 / BB 10 / Symbian S40,60)
With this, WhatsApp is set to maintain its top position in the IM segment, and its competitors would need even more innovative features to maintain their share.
