How to Delete Multiple Friends on Facebook

Do you have too many Facebook friends and want to unfriend some of them? This guide will show you a quick way to do it both in the old Profile and in the new Timeline. (Note: for both the Profile and the Timeline, this article has an important tip written in red letters to avoid the refreshing problem.)


How to do it for those using Profile

Once you have logged in to Facebook, on the top right hand corner of the page, click on your name or small profile picture.

 


Once you have done that, click on the option Friends located in the left sidebar.

Once you have done that, you will be directed to a new page, on which you will see the list of all your Facebook friends. On that page, hover your mouse on the “Friends” button at the right extreme of each friend you want to remove, and then click on the “Unfriend” option in the appearing menu.

Facebook will ask you if you to confirm the action in a window with a button that says "Remove from Friends". Important note: Instead of clicking on the "Remove from Friends" button, press the Enter key of your keyboard, and once you have done that, do not click on “Okay” in the next message that appears. If you did those things, the page would refresh and therefore it would take you a long time to remove several friends. Just repeat the above process with the next friend you want to delete and the message will go away.


How to do it in the new Timeline

Once you have logged in to Facebook, on the top right hand corner of the page, click on your name or small profile picture.



Then, click on the Friends box that is among the boxes that are right under your name and big cover picture.



Once you have done that, hover the pointer of your mouse over the name of any friend you want to remove without clicking on it. In the small window that appears, hover the pointer of your mouse over its “Friends” button, and finally, in the appearing menu, click on the “Unfriend” option.
