With the 5.5 inches screen it comes with a resolution of 1,280 x 720 pixels which is same as of Galaxy S III and a 16:9 screen. The Note has also got slimmer with thickness decreased from 9.7mm in older Note to 9.4mm in Note 2. Samsung still maintains the plastic finish at the back as was in Galaxy S III. The phone will feel the same as the old Note because of marginal difference in size. The camera is 8-megapixels with an LED flash and can capture 1080p videos. It has 2 GB’s of RAM and a 3100 mAh which gives much more battery life. As compared to S3 it has double the RAM and a 1000 mAh larger battery.
The main advantage with the new Note is because of the S Pen and the software that comes with it. The stylus is now a bit more flat and is three-forth the height of the device which makes writing easy and the rubberized tip provides a better grip and friction on the screen.
The S Pen has been given several advantages and is now much like the one found in Galaxy Note 10.1. If you remove the S Pen, the device automatically detects it and runs the app you specif or by default open the note creation screen. Also if you leave the device without the S Pen and start moving, it will alert you that you have left the S Pen behind, thanks to its accelerometer sensors. Note II also has an “Air View” feature that makes gives benefit of hover functions. If you hover over a folder without tapping on it, this feature will show you the contents of that folder without opening it. There are also many possibilities and cool features that you will see your way while using the Note II.
The Pop-up note, the Note taking app on Note II can now run on the top of other apps and can be re-sized and video pop-up also works the same way as in Galaxy S III. The email and calender app can now recognize your handwriting. The only thing that was bigger in the older Note was the resolution screen. It had a 1280 x 800 pixels resolution as compared to the new Note which has 1280 x 720.
