Global Start Up World Competition Launches In Africa [Apply Now!]

Are building the next Google or Facebook? Here is an opportunity to get announced to the world! The Global Start Up Competition is a Worldwide entrepreneurial programme aimed at finding the next world techie visionaries, and the likes of Steve Jobs or Mark Zuckerberg. The competition which will be held in 36 cities world-wide, now includes Africa with at least four (4) African cities selected for the competition, Cape Town in South Africa, Nairobi in Kenya, Dar Es Salam in Tanzania and Kigali in Rwanda.

The winners emerging from any of the African selected cities will be invited over to join other regional winners in Silicon Valley for a grand showdown to battle it out in front of a panel of expert judges who will be crowning the world's best startup.

Just like the world most rated competitions like American Idol and other singing competitions, the Global World Start Up believes that selling a business idea requires raw talent, mastery of the material, and command performance, which is why the competition aims at putting entrepreneurs in emerging markets in the limelight, describing it as their global answer to the hit singing competition, American Idol.

The competition is open to all start-ups based in Cape Town, Nairobi, Dar Es Salam or Kigali, take the greater step to apply today!

Criteria for Application
1. To enter Startup World, your startup must have been launched within the last 2 years
2. If your startup has received external funding, it can only be funding up to $500K USD
3. You must have a demonstrable product or service
4. You must be prepared to talk about your product and service in public and have it demonstrated and recorded for public broadcast
5. Pitch and application documents must be in English or you must provide a translator
6. The startup can be across any field; clean tech or consumer tech for example, but must be for profit

1. How innovative/disruptive the idea is
2. How scalable the technology is
3. How innovative the pitch is
4. Global reach
5. Human impact
