"GTBank Account Suspension Notice" Beware, It is Scam!

Hello dear readers! I bring this notice to you all following the on-going Guaranty Trust Bank scam mail tagged "Account Suspension Notice" that is being sent to people's mail. This morning, I got a mail that reads that my account has been suspended, and that an immediate update is required to be done on my account. First, I laughed when I saw the anxious tone of the words, because I know that the next thing they will ask of me would be to click on a link to update my account.

Another thing that made me laugh was the fact that I never gave GTBank the email address they sent the account suspension notice, which boils down to the fact that it's pure scam, plus I consulted a friend who works with GTBank, who made it clear to me that it's was real spam.

Please make sure you mark the subject of this mail, and also be on the alert not to click on any of the links provided in the mail. If you make the mistake of clicking on the links they provided in the mail, then you have only succeeded in giving them access to your bank account.

See a screen-shot of the email they sent to me and the areas I have highlighted so you can be sure not click any of the links in it:

I hope you found this post helpful? Please be on the ALERT!

Cheers!
