Studies have shown that most Google Adsense publishers maintain a common Google account (Gmail, Google Adsense, Google+, Google Analytics, YouTube, Feedburner and Adwords). By default, when you are currently logged into any of the products above using a common Google accounts, it becomes easier to access other products attached to that account while still on the same browser, unless you decide to launch a different browser. This is where the “Adsense Publisher Toolbar” comes in. Since your Google Adsense account is already linked with the current account you are accessing, it saves you the time of launching and logging into your Google Adsense account by simply displaying your earnings right on the current Google product you are accessing when you click on the Adsense Publisher Toolbar which you will soon be installing in your Google Chrome web browser.
The AdSense Publisher Toolbar lets you view up-to-date information about your AdSense account while browsing your site in Chrome. The Toolbar uses the Google account you are logged into to provide both an overview of your earnings and performance, as well as ad overlays that provide in-page reporting. It lets you monitor and check Adsense earnings from desktop, without having to manually login to your Google Adsense account. Usually, the Adsense Publisher Toolbar extension will only work on Google Chrome web browser, so to get started; you will need to install Google Chrome on your computer.

Wait! before you leave, take some time to read what I have to say about running separate Google accounts (especially for your Google Adsense account)
Why Have Separate Google Accounts? (My Case and My Advice)
Some time last year, I woke up to see a security warning from Google that my Gmail account was compromised and as a result of privacy matters, I would no longer be able to access my account again. First, I was devastated on seeing this message when I first tried to log in because the Gmail account was linked to one of my blogs which as at then was really doing well, and I was using the same account for other activities related to my blog and job. I did several mails to Google to help me out of it, but all was to no avail, and finally my blog went down the drill! Think of it this way, what if it was to be my adsense account that was linked to that Gmail account! It would have been catastrophic to my efforts online as Google only allows adsense publishers “ONE TIME” access to create only one Adsense account in their entire lifetime. This explains the reason why you should run several Google account (especially your adsense account)
My case was not the first or the last, as so many people today are still loosing access to their different Google accounts, so it would be disastrous if you run Google Adsense with other Google products on one Google account. Create a special account for your Google Adsense and avoid linking other products to it. The email which you used to sign up for adsense should not be used to sign up for other accounts or used for any kind of online activities. I am sure you do not want to loose your hard earned money just in a twinkle of an eye!
Another tip to protecting your adsense account is this; many third parties run an extension like the one of Adsense Publisher Toolbar for Google Chrome. I will also advice, you avoid running such third party extensions, because you will need to be logging in from to time with your Google Adsense account details to access your earnings and this to me is dangerous, because most of these third party sites are untrusted sites, so submitting your Google adsense details to them is like giving them access to your account and what ever that is in it. Stick to Adsense publisher toolbar extension from Google which is a trusted tool for safety of your adsense account.
