Blogger on creating a blog for you allows you to choose from a set of simple templates which most times have unlimited features that most third parties have. The templates are most times like a stand alone page which cannot be used as a professional or general purpose blog. However, uploading a third party template all depends on the dimension you plan taking your blog to. In this post, you will learn how to change or upload a third party template of choice (as long as it is compatible with Blogger) to your blog without any stress.
Step 1: The first thing to do should be to have the download link of your preferred Blogger xml template. Most third party templates come in a zipped file(e.g WinRAR), so you will need to unzip or extract the xml document from the folder as shown below:
Step 2: Now you have the xml file you want to upload to Blogger, next will be to Log into your Blogger dashboard and then to Design> Edit HTML
Step 3: Before doing anything, try to Backup your template to avoid losing your the work you have done previously.
Step 4: Now you have your template backed up, upload your xml blogger template by looking at the screen shot below
Step 7: Because you are uploading a third party template, there are some widgets contained in the new template that will need to be saved or deleted. So incase you see the instruction below, just click on KEEP WIDGETS
OK you have finally uploaded your preferred xml blogger template, PREVIEW first to see the outlook before you SAVE TEMPLATE.
